Mechanic Tips of the Trade

With the winter finally here and cyclist should take care of their bikes more than ever, we have a great maintenance tip to keep your bike running well. Our Service Manager Jeff Bruno has a great service tip to share:

Fixing A Flat Without Patches or Tubes.

Think outside the box!
Air isn't the only thing that can go in your tires.
What do you do if you're in the middle of a marathon mountain bike ride and, after getting your third flat, you realize you are out of tubes and you didn't pack any patches? Simply remove your tube and stuff the tire with grass, leaves and dirt... anything that will allow your tire to become round again. Yeah, it's awkward, but it sure beats walking eight miles back to the trailhead!

You can get all of these handy items at Bikeland.

Don't want to get your hands dirty? Bring your
bike to Bikeland and let our helpful mechanics
take care of it for you!
