Surly's Dummy Rail Collars are nothing more than a simple clamping device that buttresses the connection between your Big Dummy Frame and the Dummy Rails. Common on European utility bikes, a front wheel stabilizer makes loading front racks simpler. It is a spring connecting the fork to the down tube. It adds a subtle self centering action to the front wheel, making loading and unloading of a bike with a basket, or say, our Porteur Rack much easier. For all models with the QL1 system from 1993. Worn, broken or lost QL1 mounting hooks? No problem! Simply replace the hooks with a new set of QL1 hooks and adjustable handle.
